This was originally the front portion of all of the standard configurations. Now it is a secondary option that is used much less often compared to the POCKET CAP FRONT. This Front Bag is a viable option as long as you know that it is less versatile than the POCKET CAP FRONT because the front panel of this Front Bag is not detachable. But if you know you'll never want to build a smaller configuration (like the B-zero or the B2), and you don't mind always having this bag to hold all your small stuff in the three front pockets (instead of in the POCKET CAP FRONT), then this module provides good value.

Also, this Front Bag does not provide full Top Access like the CS4 and CS5 do.

The Front Bag is 13.5” x 10.5” x 5.0” on the outside. The main compartment is 13" tall, 10" wide and 3.5" deep on the inside. (And remember, it is a soft bag so it can expand slightly in every direction.)

There are two FLEX-Mount side pocket stations on the outside of the bag, one on each side. You can install any two FLEX System side pockets of your choice onto the sides of the Front Bag onto these stations.

The Front Bag can hold 2 aviation headsets of ANY brand. (If the headsets are especially large, you can simply "interleave" the two set - reverse the direction of one set, put one ear cup of the first set between the two ear cups of the other set - voila.)

The Front Bag comes with a Main Handle, a Shoulder Strap, and a Divider Shelf.

All of the FLEX modules will fit a 13 inch laptop, including the 13 inch MacBook and 13 inch MacBook Air. These modules were not designed to be full-blown laptop-carrying modules, so the padding is adequate, but not amazing.

The interior of the main compartment and all of the pockets is gray so that easy to see all the stuff inside.

Inside the Front Bag is a removable and adjustable divider shelf (using Velcro) spanning the main large compartment horizontally (see the gallery). It also has three pockets on the inner surface of the front panel - one flat pocket for a couple of simple small documents like your passport, your checkbook, or a copy of your medical, and two fat pockets for carrying any variety of smaller items inside the main compartment.

There are nine pockets on the outer surface of the front panel. You can plainly see three different pocket locations.  The top-most pocket is 5.0" tall and 9.25" wide.  The middle pocket is 3.25" tall and 9.25" wide.  And the bottom-most pocket is 4.25" tall and 9.25" wide.

Each of these three pockets pocket compartments actually contain three sub-pockets: [1] A main pocket area. [2] A small secondary pocket tucked in the top of each pocket. [3] And then a small flat pocket on the cover of each pocket. These pockets are great for organizing all the little stuff in you personal and professional life.

One of the amazing and hidden features of this bag is that the cover of the outer top front pocket is completely removable so that it is easy to go get it embroidered with your company logo or your initials or your tail number etc. Try it out. You'll notice that the bottom surface of the pocket - both on the inside and outside - has Velcro and then you can just unzip the rest of the zipper and pull the pocket cover off.

There is a pocket on the top of the bag for your sunglasses. This pocket is actually fairly large and can hold a couple of pairs of sunglasses. Including their cases (as long as the cases are small).

There is a business card holder on top of the bag. The clear plastic window has a narrow extension that sticks out about an inch outside the business card holder frame. THIS IS NOT A MISTAKE. It is there by design. The purpose of this extra flap is to tuck back in under the business cards in the holder to keep those cards from falling out.

The Front Bag also comes with a divider shelf that is attached to the sidewalls of the compartment by use of Velcro on each end.  The velcro panels on the bag walls are quite large which allows you to move the divider shelf up and down to position the shelf right where you need it for your stuff (or take it completely out if you need).

The bottom of the bag has two plastic "skid plates" to help keep the bottom of the bag off the ground.

The Front Bag is not intended to be carried by itself without anything zipped onto its rear surface. The rear exterior surface of the Front Bag is just a "naked" panel with no pockets. When nothing is attached to this surface, the separation zipper (the main zipper that allows other FLEX modules to be zipped on) ends up being rather exposed because it is just "hanging off" the backside of the bag. (Plus it just plain looks bad.) If you plan to carry the Front Bag by itself you should make sure you have at least a FLAT CAP REAR available as part of your FLEX system. This will do several things all at once: [1] It will "complete" the rear surface of the bag making it look finished and professional. [2] It will protect the separation zipper by closing it off. [3] And you will get all the extra storage that comes from the pockets on the FLAT CAP REAR itself, as well as the space between the FLAT CAP REAR and the Front Bag.

The entire front panel of the Front Bag is not detachable. It is permanently connected to the Front Bag. It is easy to think that this is the same piece as the POCKET CAP FRONT. But they are different. This front panel of the Front Bag is permanently attached. The POCKET CAP FRONT Is a separate piece that can be attached to (and completely detached from) the front surface of any of the other modules of the FLEX System.
